Howdy folks, it's OverCoat!
I think this is my first "blog" blog post ever. I have my own site [by mDuo, of course] with a news column but it just isn't the same! Okay, I guess I should say a bit about myself. I'm Scott, I go by OverCoat [or soc] online. Unlike the other two dudes posting on this blog, I actually write music. Well, mDuo writes music, kind of, but that's not his main focus. Meanwhile Redcavalier just does... Canadian stuff. As for my taste in anime music, I tend to not listen to just any soundtrack, rather unique ones, like Hellsing or Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Some OSTs are just so beautiful yet underappreciated, the two favorites of mine being Kokoro Library, all written by
Hisaaki Hogari, and Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou's wonderful second OVA, done by both
Choro Club and
Taku Iwasaki. They're both so emotional and relaxing that listening to both in succession may put you in a small coma.
We are all connected though, by
Anime Remix. Basically the ONLY site available if you want fan-arrangements of anime tunes. I admit, it's pretty niche, but I have a few songs up there already [
here is a nice list showing all 4, and what anime they are from]. You may have a problem downloading the songs, but that's because the site isn't really done yet. We waited and waited and waited some more, and we just got tired of it and started our own site. Don't hate Matt [Xaleph] though. He's cool, but just far too busy to finish AR.
You'll notice a site url on that page. It's outdated!
This is my new site. I don't exactly have a lot of arranged anime material, unless you count the chipdisk on mDuo's last post, of course. I really should start working on a new song.
Here is a list of upcoming material from myself and my wonderful friends!
-A Kokoro Library mix [!!!] by Tepid.
-Fray may or may not finish his Chobits tune
-I personally have "YKK-Yuunagi, like Radix - Counting Stars" on the todo board in my room :) Fans of Radix [who
isn't one?] should like it. I haven't started yet but once I get some other projects out of the way it'll be done quickly.
-I could be starting Anime Chipdisk Vol. 2 sometime soon! There's no schedule for it, but I really want to make another one, since the first one was ASTRONOMICALLY fun to write.
